The next meeting of the Story County Amateur Radio Club will be Thursday, January 8, 2015, at 7:30 pm. The meeting will be in Conference Room North AB next to Bessie Meyers Auditorium on the first floor of Mary Greeley Medical Center (MGMC). In the program AG3V will present an introduction to the JT65 digital mode that is being increasingly used for weak-signal communications.

The closest parking is in the lot north of the ER and ambulance garage. Enter through the North Door where MGMC meets McFarland Clinic.

The next meeting of the Story County Amateur Radio Club will be Thursday, December 4, 2014, at 7:00 pm. Note the special time. The meeting will be in the Ames Public Library, Danfoss Room (2nd floor, near elevator). The address is 515 Douglas Ave, Ames. The program will be "Antenna Tuners" by K0CQ. Jerry will cover why one should use an antenna tuner, the effects of frequency on a center fed wire (both impedance and radiation pattern). Then he will describe tuner circuits with examples on screen and live.
