The Story County Amateur Radio Club will meet on Thursday, December 4, at 7:00 PM with an in-person gathering in Grand Room 1 at Northcrest Community combined with an online meeting via Microsoft Teams.

Clint Miller, K0GR, and Paul Cowley, W0YR, will discuss a recent trip they made to Glacier National Park. Along the way, they did some hammock camping, hiking, and radio (POTA) from some interesting locations. They will provide their perspective on this adventure - preparation, mishaps, and do's and don'ts for remote operations.

The Story County Amateur Radio Club will meet on Thursday, November 6, at 7:00 PM with an in-person gathering in Grand Room 1 at Northcrest Community combined with an online meeting via Microsoft Teams.

Pat Rundall, NØHR, will discuss high-gain antennas for HF that are portable. These antennas are useful in Field Day, POTA, SOTA and other field settings to add directivity without setting up towers or permanent structures.

The Story County Amateur Radio Club will hold its fall "SCARC in the Park" Parks On The Air (POTA) operating event on Saturday October 25th in Ledges State Park (POTA entity US-2303). We will set up around 07:00 (am) in the Carl "Fritz" Henning shelter in the Lower Ledges area and wiil operate continuously until about 18:00.
