Annual SCARC potluck social on 8/18 and NO regular club meeting in August

There is NO regular club meeting scheduled for the first Thursday of August. Many folks are traveling or have other summer plans, so we have traditionally skipped the formal August meeting, however, our third-annual August potluck social/picnic will occur on Saturday, August 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Following are the basic details about the event:
The club has reserved the Coneflower Shelter at Moore Memorial Park (3050 Northridge Pkwy in northwest Ames) - this is the same location as the last two years. Family and friends are also welcome – the picnic is intended to be an informal social event for everyone and a chance to get to know each other better in a casual environment. No sign-up or RSVP is required, and you do NOT have to be a SCARC member to join us. There is a playground nearby for younger kids and plenty of space to spread out if desired.

If you are attending, please bring one or more main course dishes to share (and maybe a side dish, too!) along with enough place settings (plates, silverware, napkins, etc.) and any desired non-alcoholic beverages for your group.

The club will provide ice water and cold lemonade as well as disposable cups.

We’re sure to have lots of socializing, fun, and good food and hope to see you there!
