The next meeting of the Story County Amateur Radio Club will be at 7:30 pm, Thursday, December 6, 2012. For this month, we have a different meeting place. We will be meeting . For this month only, the meeting will be held in Conference Rooms A, B, & C next to Bessie Meyers Auditorium on the first floor of the Mary Greeley Medical Center. The closest parking is in the lot north of the Emergency Room. A map will be sent in the announcement to anyone on the SCARC or the CARC mail lists. The program for the meeting will have three components. Clint, KCØJUO will first present and provide a demonstration of the unique radio setup at MGMC, including the remote operating position using RemoteRigs.
Clint's presentation will be followed by a presentation on the ARRL Log Book of the World (LOTW) by K0KT and a presentation on eQSL by KN0R. These are modern Internet-based methods of confirming QSO for different awards, which are beginning to supplement or replace the increasingly expensive regular paper QSLs that are exchanged via regular mail.
