August 24 SCARC picnic

The Story County Amateur Radio Club will hold its annual picnic on Saturday, August 24, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Coneflower Shelter at Moore Memorial Park. The picnic is open to anyone who would like to learn more about amateur radio. Attendees are requested to bring a main dish and side dish to share, along with their own table service. Water and lemonade will be provided.

July 11 SCARC meeting

The Story County Amateur Radio Club (SCARC) will meet on Thursday, July 11, 2019. Michael Lowe, KC0GGA, will lead the review of Field Day 2019. We will also do some planning for the upcoming year, including the Iowa QSO Party.

The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in North Conference Room A/B on the first floor of Mary Greeley Medical Center. If you arrive before 7:15, you should still be able to enter the MGMC northeast entrance. If you arrive at 7:15 or later, you should enter MGMC through the south entry near the parking garage. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Field Day location set

The Story County Amateur Radio Club (SCARC) will participate in Field Day activities from 1:00 PM on Saturday, 22 June to 1:00 PM on Sunday, 23 June in Parking Lot 96 at the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine.

Parking Lot 96 is on the southwest side of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) and should be accessed via Entrance B (Christensen Drive) on South 16th Street in Ames.
